Sol: To write the Greatest number and Smallest number using four different numbers 4,0,3,1

  • Arrange the given numbers from largest to the smallest as given below
    The largest digit is 4.
    The next largest is 3.
    Then we have 1.
    Finally, 0 is the smallest.
  • For Greatest Number, Arrange the digits from largest to the smallest in order
    therefore, Greatest number = 4310
  • For Smallest Number, Arrange the digits from smallest to the largest in order

3. 4,37,295  <  4,37,564

Sol: In this case both 4,37,295 and 4,37,564 are six digit numbers,
Hence in this case we will start looking at the digits

  • The first digits are the same: 4 (in both numbers).
  • The second digits are also the same: 3 (in both numbers).
  • The third digits are the same: 7 (in both numbers).
    Look at the Fourth Digit
  • In 4,37,295 the fourth digit is 2
  • In 4,37,564 the fourth digit is 5.
    Here, 2 is less than 5

1. If it is less than 5, it will Round Down.
2. If it is equal to or more than 5, it will Round Up.

  • Round Up: If you are rounding up, add 1 to the tens place digit and change the last digit to 0.
    For Example: Round off 47 to the nearest 10.
    Ans: Now in this question , As we see 7 on the ones place of the number.
    So, This number will Round Up,
    So, Add one to the Tens Place and 0 at the end
    Rounded Up Number = 5
  • Round Down: If you are rounding down, just change the last digit to 0.
    For Example: Round off 43 to the nearest 10.
    Ans: Now in this question , As we see 3 on the ones place of the number.
