Q.4. Write two advantages of asana?

  • Asana strengthens thighs, knees and ankles and helps improve height of the children.
  • Asana help to develop positive emotions and brings emotional stability.


Q.5. What are benefits of Kapalabhati?

Benefits of Kapalabhati:

  • Kapalabhati expels more carbon-dioxide and other waste gases from the lungs than the normal breathing.
  • It improves blood circulation throughout the body.
  • It energises the body and removes lethargy.


Q.6. Which practices would you like to perform to develop interpersonal relationships?

I would like to practice Introspection to develop interpersonal relationships.

Bhastrika is beneficial in case of asthma and it destroys phlegm also.

There are following names of asana which derive their name from living objects:

  • Tadasana: Name of this asana is derived from Palm tree.
  • Simhasana: Name of this asana derived from lion.

There are following names of asana which derive their name from nonliving objects:

  • Dhanurasana: Name of this asana derived from Dhanur or bow.
  • Surya Namaskara: This name is derived from Sun.


Q.9. Mention the importance of introspection.

  • Introspection means inner inspection or self observation.
  • Introspection is an important method by which a person becomes aware about the self. This practice makes us aware about our strengths and weaknesses. This practice is very important for personality development.


Q.10. Write the technique of meditation.

  • Sit in Padmasana, Sukhasana or in any meditative comfortable posture. Place hands in Jnana mudra on respective knees. Keep the spine erect. Close eyes gently.
  • Concentrate on inhalation and exhalation.
  • Then focus on the space between the eyebrows with closed eyes.

Remain in this position for five minutes.

  • To come back, bring the consciousness very slowly back to the external surroundings.
  • After that slowly open the eyes and remove the hands. Slowly externalise yourself.


Q.11. Write short note on a pranayama.

Prana refers to the ‘universal life force’ and ayama means to ‘regulate’. Prana is the vital energy without which the body would not survive. Pranayama relates to breathing techniques which help to increase breathing capacity. There are many benefits of Pranayama like It calms down the mind and improves concentration, it improves blood supply to brain, it is also beneficial in many diseases such as asthma, high or low blood pressure, insomnia, chronic pain, endocrine imbalances, heart-problems, hyperactivity, etc.
