Material Required

• Cardboard
• White cotton T-shirt
• 1 cup of flour
• Bottles that can be squeezed to ooze the paint out, you can use ketchup bottles too
• Fabric spray paint
• Spray bottle

Directions to be followed

• Use the cardboard as a shield for the paint. Cut it up so that it fits the tee and slip it into the garment to prevent colors from bleeding from one side to another.
• Mix the flour and water to bring it to a ketchup consistency. Make this mixture just before you use it, otherwise it will turn gluey and become difficult to pour. Transfer the mixture into a squeeze bottle and draw a smiley pattern on the white tee. Keep the tee out in the sun till the mixture on it hardens – here’s where you make good use of summer!
• Bring the tee inside and place it on a flat surface that’s covered with newspaper. Spray fabric paint over the smiley pattern. Let the paint dry before you touch it.
• Pull out the cardboard piece from beneath the tee. Have your child remove the flour mixture to reveal a cheerful smiley, smiling right back at you!
• Follow the paint manufacturer’s directions while washing the tee.
• Experiment with different patterns – flowers, sun, leaves, favorite fruit, etc.
• You can also try a mixture of two to three spray colors – spray a color and let it dry before you top it with another color.
