NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is an entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical courses (MBBS/BDS) in India. It is a single window entrance examination for admission to over 80,000 MBBS/BDS seats in various medical/dental colleges across the country. The merit list of NEET is released after the examination is conducted, based on which admission is granted to the eligible candidates. The merit list consists of the names of the successful candidates in order of their marks obtained in the examination.
A list of rankings which is created to help students apply for admissions to medical schools through the counseling process is a Merit List. The following points give a brief overview of the NEET Merit List.
The NEET 2023 cutoff is the minimum qualifying percentile that must be secured to qualify for the NEET medical entrance examination. Candidates will be included in the NEET 2023 merit list only if they secure the minimum qualifying cut-off. Candidates will be allotted ranks in the NEET-UG merit list on the basis of scores that they obtain. Candidates can refer to the table below for the previous year NEET cutoff (category-wise) and equivalent scores.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) prepares a Merit list based on the rankings of the NEET examination, which can be viewed on the NEET Scorecard.

The MCC will be responsible for releasing the NEET merit list for 15% All India Quota seats and the respective state authorities will be responsible for releasing the merit list for 85% state quota seats.
The NEET merit list 2023 will be used for counseling and allotment of seats.
All candidates who qualify the NEET 2023 exam will be included in the merit list.
The rank to be allotted in the NEET merit list 2023 depends on the difficulty level of the exam, scores obtained in NEET UG, and the number of candidates appearing for the entrance test.
The NEET merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the exam. Candidates with higher marks are given higher positions in the list.
The NEET merit list is used for admission to MBBS and BDS courses offered by medical and dental colleges in India. The list is also used by various universities and state governments to award scholarships and other benefits to meritorious students.
