To succeed in a graduate-level business program, prospective students are required to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). The GMAT is a standardized exam that measures a candidate's preparedness for such programs. An essential prerequisite for taking the GMAT is presenting a valid form of identification at the test center. This requirement is mandatory and crucial to verify the candidate's identity and ensure the accuracy of the test scores.
Moreover, the importance of a valid ID cannot be overstated in preserving the integrity of the high-stakes GMAT exam and preventing any fraudulent activity. To avoid any unexpected issues, it is advisable to know the accepted forms of identification and bring the appropriate documentation to the test center on the exam day. The identification document must be up to date, easily readable and should include:

  • Your name spelt using the Roman alphabet, exactly as provided during registration, including the arrangement and placement of names
  • The date of birth that matches precisely the one provided during registration
  • A clear, recent and recognizable photo
  • Your signature

For test centre appointments, if you are unable to present an ID that comprises all the above elements at the test center, you will be required to bring an alternate acceptable ID for your location that includes the lacking elements.
