GATE Syllabus 2024 for AE Paper

The official organising institute, Indian Institute of Science (gate.iisc.ac.in) in Bangalore, has released the complete syllabus for the Aerospace Engineering (AE) Paper for GATE 2024 exams.
Paper AE (Aerospace Engineering) syllabus has been categorized into two sections, namely Core Topics and Special Topics. The question paper will have 90% of its questions from Core Topics and the remaining 10% from Special Topics.

Section-1 Engineering Mathematics

Fourier Series, Laplace Transforms, Numerical methods for linear and nonlinear algebraic equations, Numerical integration and differentiation. Complex analysis. Probability and statistics.

Section-2 Flight Mechanics

In terms of dynamic stability, this section covers the Euler angles, equations of motion, decoupling of longitudinal and lateral-directional dynamics, as well as longitudinal and lateral-directional modes.

Section-3 Space Dynamics

The fundamental concepts covered in space dynamics include central force motion, determination of trajectory and orbital period in simple cases, Kepler's laws, and escape velocity. It is important to note that there are no specific topics that are classified as special in space dynamics.

Section-4 Aerodynamics

The subject of wind tunnel testing covers techniques for measurement and visualization, as well as the interaction between shock waves and boundary layers.

Section-5 Structures

Section-6 Propulsion
