How to Apply for KPMG Recruitment Process

There are four ways to apply for the KPMG recruitment process, they are as follows:

  • KPMG Off-Campus drives
  • Direct application to the KPMG India careers page
  • KPMG Campus recruitment drives
  • Employee referral

The selection process will begin with online application submission regardless of which of these modes you go with. The application form will be a standard one, as followed by many companies. You will have to fill in some personal information, academic background, and work experience details.

KPMG Recruitment Process - Rounds

As we have mentioned, the entire recruitment process begins with an application form that all candidates must fill out. It should not take longer than a few minutes to fill out the form. After this HR will screen the resume for the respective job profile, and those who have employee referrals will experience a faster screening process. This step is followed by four primary rounds, which we have discussed in detail ahead.

Round 1: KPMG Online Assessment

The online assessment is split into three segments- aptitude test, psychometric test, and coding test. The total duration for this round is anywhere between 60 to 90 minutes. The KPMG aptitude test is further divided into two sub-sections, i.e. verbal ability and numerical ability. The duration for the aptitude test of the KMPG recruitment process is 40-60 minutes and the sub-topics include (but are not limited to):

Logical reasoning

Data interpretation

Graphs

Percentages

Geometry

Probability

Reading comprehension

Idioms, antonyms, synonyms

Algebra

Vocabulary & grammar skills

Fill in the blanks

Spotting mistakes

Time and work

Time, distance, speed

Profit & Loss

You can find a lot of material on aptitude tests available online. A lot of candidates assume that they won't need to prepare for this round since the questions asked are not that tough. While that might be true, note that the real test will be conducted under a strict time limit. It is hence important to take online practice tests and become accustomed to the actual process. It is essential for the candidate to showcase impeccable time management, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills to clear this round and garner brownie points for further stages.

Round 2: Group discussion

The next stage of the KPMG recruitment process is the group discussion round. All the candidates are split into groups (of say 8-12 candidates) and are then assigned simple and broad-themed, but industry-related topics. The intent of this round is to observe the candidate's soft skills (like articulation, communication skills, structured thinking, etc.) and attributes (like team player ability, leadership, proactiveness, etc.)

Round 3: KPMG Interview (HR)

This is the first phase of the interview process and it starts with an evaluation by the recruiter, i.e. an HR interview. This KPMG recruitment process round is one-on-one interaction and it can be conducted either in-person or even virtually/ telephonically. The interviewer will ask a mix of behavioral and judgment test questions to determine if you are fit for the respective role/ team and company fit at large. They want to know about a candidate's personality traits, attitude, skills & capabilities, resilience, past experiences, etc.

Round 4: Technical interviews at KPMG

  • Once you clear the HR interview, the next step of the KPMG recruitment process is the technical/ coding interview. The intent of this round is to assess a candidate's technical knowledge and competency in reference to the specific job profile. This is usually a one-on-one round, but sometimes, the panel might comprise 2-3 interviewers.
  • Also, there could be multiple stages/ interactions in this round, with the hiring managers, team leads, business partners, functions heads, etc. The interviewer(s) will ask technical questions on topics related to the company's technical operations to ascertain the candidate's ability to handle technical problems they will face if recruited. Some common topics covered in the technical interview include (but are not limited to) Java, Python, C, C++, web development, data science, DSA, OOPs, machine learning, etc.
  • This brings us to the end of the KPMG recruitment process rounds. Candidates whose performance across the rounds is found to be up to the mark are issued an offer letter, which they can then accept or reject.

KPMG Behavioral Capabilities

The discussion on the KPMG placement process is incomplete without the mention of one important aspect and that is the 'behavioral capabilities'.
