Rama Learns about Sita's Condition

After meeting Sita in Lanka, Hanuman returned to India and informed Rama and the monkey troops about her state. Sita was guarded by a terrifying demon named Kaka Surah, and she was constantly crying and thinking of Rama. Hanuman narrated the incidents to everyone, and they decided to return to their kingdom, as Rama was eagerly waiting for their arrival.

Hanuman Conveys Sita's Message

Hanuman explained to Rama that Sita wanted to inform him about some personal matters. She also revealed the fight between Rama and the demon Kaka Surah, who had tried to harm her in the form of a crow during their stay in Yogya. Rama was overjoyed to hear about Sita's well-being and the ring he had sent her.

Rama's Decision to Rescue Sita

Upon learning about the dangers Sita faced in Lanka, Rama decided to rescue her. He commanded Sugreev to prepare the monkey troops for the mission, and they all headed towards Lanka, accompanied by Rama and Lakshman.

Preparations for War and Robin's Concerns

In Lanka, preparations for war were underway, and Lovins grandfather expressed his concerns to Ravana about the consequences of keeping Sita captive. He advised Ravana to send Sita back to Rama and maintain peace in Lanka. However, Ravana disregarded the advice and dismissed his concerns.

Angada's Mission and Robin's Refusal

Angada, sent as a messenger by Rama, approached Ravana to request the release of Sita. However, Ravana refused and insulted Angada. He even offered to make Angada the king of Kishkindha if he abandoned Rama. Angada remained steadfast in his mission and warned Ravana of the impending war.

The Construction of the Bridge

Rama and his troops reached the shores of the ocean but faced the challenge of crossing it. They fasted for three days, hoping for the sea to calm down. When that did not happen, Rama decided to use the Brahmastra, a powerful weapon, to reduce the depth of the ocean and create a path for the army.

Rama's Arrival in Lanka

With the help of the monkey troops, Rama and his allies successfully built a bridge across the ocean. They reached Lanka and witnessed its beauty. Meanwhile, Ravana plotted a wicked plan to deceive Sita.

Sita's False Grief and Rama's Decision

Ravana showed Sita a severed head, claiming it was Rama's. Distraught, Sita fell unconscious. However, she soon regained consciousness when Hanuman informed her that Rama had come to rescue her. Rama gathered his advisors and discussed the war strategy, but he also wanted to speak to Ravana directly.

Rama's Peaceful Intentions

Rama approached Ravana, hoping to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. He urged Ravana to return Sita and prevent a devastating war. Ravana arrogantly refused and challenged Rama to face him in battle.

Preparations for War

Realizing that peace was no longer an option, Rama and his allies prepared for war, determined to rescue Sita from Ravana's clutches.

Moral

The Ramayana teaches us the importance of righteousness, bravery, and the pursuit of justice. Rama's unwavering dedication to rescuing Sita, his peaceful intentions, and his willingness to spare lives demonstrate the noble qualities of a true hero. The epic emphasizes the value of truth, compassion, and perseverance in the face of adversity.
