PM lays foundation stone and dedicates to nation infrastructure projects worth over Rs. 5500 crores in Nathdwara, Rajasthan

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, visited Nathdwara, Rajasthan, where he laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several infrastructure projects worth over Rs. 5500 crores. These development projects aim to enhance infrastructure and connectivity in the region. The railway and road projects will facilitate the movement of goods and services, promoting trade and commerce and improving the socio-economic conditions of the people in the area.

Projects:

  • Foundation stone laid for the redevelopment of Udaipur railway station and gauge conversion project.
  • Foundation stone laid for road construction projects to upgrade Rajsamand and Udaipur to two-lane roads.
  • Inauguration of three national highway projects.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the opportunity to visit the historic land of Mewar and Lord Shrinath. He mentioned performing darshan and puja at the Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara earlier in the day, seeking blessings to achieve the goals of a developed India in the Azaadi Ka Amrit Kaal.

The framework provides a comprehensive roadmap for the development of the robotics ecosystem in Telangana, contributing to the growth of the industry in the country.
About Robotics Framework: The Telangana State Robotics Framework is a detailed plan outlining the state's vision for advancing the robotics ecosystem and promoting industry growth in India. It was created by the Emerging Technologies Wing of the ITE&C Department of Telangana, in collaboration with the All India Robotics Association and input from academic and industry experts.

Punjab becomes the first state to implement 'Right To Walk'

Punjab has become the first state in India to implement the 'Right To Walk' by making it mandatory for all road-owning agencies, including the NHAI, to provide footpaths and cycle tracks in all future road expansions and new constructions. This decision comes in response to the increasing number of deaths among pedestrians and cyclists. Punjab has taken the lead among the states and union territories in implementing this initiative. The state government issued these directions following two court orders after Public Interest Litigations (PILs) were filed at the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court.

Lionel Messi and Argentina WIN BIG at Laureus Awards 2023

Lionel Messi, the Argentine football star, was awarded the Sportsman of the Year at the 2023 Laureus World Sports Awards ceremony in Paris. Messi received this prestigious award in recognition of his remarkable achievements on the pitch in the past year, including leading Argentina to victory in the FIFA World Cup. Renowned Bengali author Samaresh Majumdar passes away at 79

Samaresh Majumdar, a renowned Bengali author known for his portrayal of the tumultuous Naxalite period of the 1970s, passed away at a private hospital in Kolkata at the age of 79. Majumdar, suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), had been undergoing treatment at the hospital for over a month. He gained fame with his 'Animesh' series and published his first novel, 'Dour' (Run), in 1967. One of his works, 'Arjun-Kalimpong E Sitaharan,' was adapted into a film in 2013. Majumdar received numerous accolades, including the Sahitya Akademi Award for 'Kalbela' in 1984. He was also honored with the Anand Award and Bankim Award, and in 2018, the West Bengal government awarded him the 'Banga Bibhushan' award.

International Day of Argania

Every year on May 10, the International Day of Argania or International Day of the Argan Tree is observed to promote awareness and understanding of the environmental importance of the argan tree worldwide. This day was established by UNESCO. In 2023, the United Nations will celebrate the third International Day of Argania since its proclamation by General Assembly Resolution A/RES/75/262 in 2021.
Theme: The theme for the International Day of Argania - 2023 is "Socio-economic development & sustainability of the Argan ecosystem."
About Argania: Argania is a genus of flowering plants that includes the sole species Argania spinosa, known as argan. This tree is endemic to the calcareous semi-desert Sous valley in southwestern Morocco and the region of Tindouf in southwestern Algeria. Argan trees grow up to 8–10 meters in height and can live for approximately 200 years.

RBI imposes Rs. 1.73 crore penalty on HSBC for incorrect credit information

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed a monetary penalty of Rs. 1.73 crore on the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd (HSBC) for contravention of Credit Information Companies Rules, 2006. The bank was issued a notice to explain why the penalty should not be imposed for the mentioned contravention. After considering the bank's reply and oral submissions during the personal hearing, the RBI concluded that the charge of contravention was substantiated and warranted the imposition of a monetary penalty. It's important to note that this action is based on deficiencies in regulatory compliance and does not pass judgment on the validity of any transaction or agreement between the bank and its customers.

Federal Bank launches e-Bank Guarantees in partnership with NeSL

Federal Bank has partnered with the National E-Governance Services Limited (NeSL) to launch the issuance of electronic Bank Guarantees. This partnership enables customers of Federal Bank to avail a complete digital experience when obtaining a Bank Guarantee. The electronic Bank Guarantee facilitates the issuance, invocation, amendment, and cancellation of Bank Guarantees in digital form, eliminating the need for physical documents.
This process is safe, secure, and fast, facilitating trade and business activities. Eligible entities to avail this facility include individuals, sole proprietors, companies, partnership firms, government agencies, associations of people, and bodies of individuals. Currently, this facility is available only in states where e-stamping is available.
