Exercise Cope India 23, a joint exercise between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the United States Air Force (USAF), has begun on Monday. This 11-day exercise is taking place at Air Force Stations Arjan Singh (Panagarh), Kalaikunda, and Agra. The primary objective of the exercise is to enhance mutual understanding between the two Air Forces and share best practices.
Both sides will deploy C-130J and C-17 aircraft, with the USAF also operating an MC-130J. The exercise also involves the participation of the Japanese Air Self Defence Force aircrew as observers. This exercise marks the resumption of the event after a 4-year gap due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The previous edition of the exercise was held in 2019 at air bases in Kalaikunda and Panagarh.
Jalabala Vaidya, a renowned theatre actor, has passed away in Delhi at the age of 86. Her daughter and theatre director Anasuya Vaidya Shetty confirmed the news. Jalabala Vaidya began her career as a journalist, writing for various national newspapers and magazines in Delhi. She received several accolades throughout her career, including the Sangeet Natak Akademi's Tagore Award, the Delhi Natya Sangh Award, and the Andhra Pradesh Natya Akademi Honour.
She was also honored with the Honorary Citizenship of the City of Baltimore, USA, and the Delhi Government's Varisht Samman for her significant contributions to the performing arts. Jalabala Vaidya co-founded the Akshara National Classical Theatre in New Delhi with her husband, poet-playwright Gopal Sharman. She played leading roles in over 20 plays during her career.
Beauty and skincare brand VLCC has appointed Vikas Gupta as its CEO with immediate effect. The appointment comes after investment firm Carlyle acquired a majority stake in the company in December 2022. Prior to joining VLCC, Gupta served as the CEO of SuperStore by Nykaa and as the chief customer and marketing officer for Flipkart from 2019 to 2021. Gupta brings extensive experience in building leading consumer brands and digital platforms, and his appointment is expected to further strengthen VLCC's position in the market.

Born on April 11, 1827, Jyotiba Phule dedicated his life to the upliftment of the oppressed, the eradication of untouchability, and challenging the caste system. Along with his wife, Savitribai Phule, he pioneered women's education in India by establishing schools for women in Pune. The government of Rajasthan has declared a public holiday on this occasion, starting from 2023.
World Parkinson's Day is observed on April 11 each year to raise awareness about Parkinson's disease, a progressive nervous system disorder. With over 10 million people affected worldwide, Parkinson's disease occurs when neurons in the brain deteriorate, resulting in reduced dopamine levels and impaired movement. ICICI Bank has launched an equated monthly installment (EMI) facility for UPI payments made by scanning QR codes. The facility is available to customers eligible for the bank's 'buy now pay later' scheme, PayLater. Customers can now make UPI transactions above Rs 10,000 and pay the amount in installments over three, six, or nine months. The EMI facility will soon be extended to online shopping as well. This initiative aims to provide customers with more flexibility and convenience when making larger UPI transactions.
