Q1: Find the number which when divided by 53 gives 8 as a quotient and 4 as a remainder
Ans: 
Given divisor = 53, quotient = 8, Remainder = 4
By division algorithm,
Dividend = (divisor × quotient) + Remainder = (53 × 8) + 4 = 424 + 4
Required number = 428

Q2: Find the product of 3568 × 99
Ans: 
We know that a × b + a × c = a(b + c)
3568 × 99 = 3568 × (100 - 1)
(By using distribution property of multiplication over subtraction).
3568 × 99 = 3568 × 100 - 3568 × 1
3568 × 99 = 353232.

Q3: Find the product of 4 × 250 × 3890
Ans: 
4 × 250 × 3890 = 1000 × 3860 (By grouping)
4 × 250 × 3890 = 3860000

Q4: Find the value of 1123 × 648 + 1123 × 122 + 1123 × 230
Ans: 
By using distributive property of multiplication over addition, a × b + a × c = a(b + c)
1123 × 648 + 1123 × 122 + 1123 × 230 = 1123(648 + 122 + 230).
1123 × 648 + 1123 × 122 + 1123 × 230 = 1123(1000).
1123 × 648 + 1123 × 122 + 1123 × 230 = 1123000.

Q5: Find the value of 768 × 73 + 768 × 27
Ans:
768 × 73 + 768 × 27
The above property looks similar to a × b + a × c which distributive property of multiplication after addition hence, a × b + a × c = a(b + c).
768 × 73 + 768 × 27 = 768(73 + 27).
768 × 73 + 768 × 27 = 768 × 100.
768 × 73 + 768 × 27 = 76800.

Q6: Find the product 885 × 94
Ans: 
885 × 94 = 885 × (100 - 6)(By distributive property over subtractive, multiplicative)
885 × 94 = 885 × 100 - 885 × 6
885 × 94 = 88500 - 5310
885 × 94 = 83190

Q7: Find the sum by suitable rearrangement: 2852 + 553 + 2648 + 647
Ans: 
2852 + 553 + 2648 + 647 = 553 + 647 + 2648 + 647
2852 + 553 + 2648 + 647 = 1200 + 550 (By associative property)
2852 + 553 + 2648 + 647 = 6700

Q8: Find the sum of 745, 387, and 613.
Ans: 
745 + 387 + 613 = 745 + 1000 (By using associative property) 
745 + 387 + 613 = 1745

Ans:
The additive identity is 0.

Ans:
