  • Water helps us to lead a comfortable life on this planet. We use water for drinking, making food, bathing, washing clothes and many more daily. 

Where We Find Water

Natural Resources

  • Sea: a sea is defined as a portion of the ocean that is partly surrounded by land. 
  • River: A river is natural flowing water, usually freshwater, flowing towards an ocean, sea, lake or another river.
  • Lake: a large area of water surrounded by land.    
  • Pond: a small body of still water formed naturally or artificially.                                    
  • Groundwater: Groundwater is the water found underground in the cracks and spaces in soil, sand and rock

Artificial Resources

  • Well: A well is an excavation or structure created in the ground by digging, driving, or drilling to access liquid resources, usually water.
  • Canals: an artificial waterway constructed to allow the passage of boats or ships inland or to convey water for irrigation.
  • Dams: A dam is a barrier that stops or restricts surface water flow or underground streams. It has an attached reservoir to store the excess water.
  • Tube Wells: A tube well is a form of a water well in which a stainless steel tube or pipe, 100-200 millimetres in diameter, is dug underground.
    Where We Find Water

Where We Use Water 

  • Drinking: Fresh water from the river or filtered wanted is used for drinking.
  • Preparing Food: Again, freshwater from the river and artificial reservoirs are used for preparing food.
  • Bathing: Water is used for cleaning and bathing purposes too.
  • Washing Clothes: Water is used for washing off the dirty clothes.
  • Washing Utensils: All the utensils are washed off with the help of water only.
