The Giant Roc Summary Class 6 New Pathways

Summary

The story of Sinbad the Sailor is about his second adventurous voyage. After his first journey, he planned to stay in Bagdad, but he got bored and decided to sail again. He bought goods for trading and set sail with a crew. They stopped on an uninhabited island full of fruit trees. While Sinbad ate and rested, he woke up to find the ship gone, which made him very sad.

Lost on the island, he saw a massive egg that turned out to be a bird's egg called a roc. Sinbad tied himself to the bird's leg with his turban, hoping it would carry him away. The bird flew high and then descended rapidly, and Sinbad untied himself.

The bird grabbed a giant snake, and Sinbad found himself in a valley filled with diamonds but also giant snakes. He used the diamonds to attract eagles that carried him to safety. Later, he reached an island with camphor trees and rhinoceroses.
