Summary

Once upon a time, there was a skilled and clever thief named Chandu. He decided to turn his life around and go to the neighboring kingdom ruled by Raja Chakor. On his journey, Chandu met Teli Ram, a trader, and they traveled together. Chandu had a unique ability to talk to animals.

As they approached Raja Chakor's kingdom, Chandu revealed his true identity to Teli Ram, who, in fear, betrayed him to the king. Chandu, aware of the betrayal, disguised himself to avoid detection.

In the city, Chandu and Raja Chakor, both in disguise, met. Chandu, unaware of the king's identity, threatened him, thinking he was a guard. The king cleverly revealed himself, and they decided to become partners in crime.

Their first target was a rich merchant, but Chandu, witnessing the merchant's distress over a missing paisa, spared him to avoid causing further sorrow. They then targeted a jeweler but left empty-handed after Chandu accidentally tasted salt in the house.

Chandu, guided by the king, attempted to rob the king's chamber, guarded by ferocious dogs. The dogs recognized the king, and Chandu, bowing to him, earned the king's respect. Instead of punishing Chandu, the king invited him to stay and become his wise advisor.

Chandu lived the rest of his life as a faithful and clever advisor to the good king.
