Meaning

Embedded figures are figures hidden inside another figure.

  • A figure (X) is said to be embedded inside figure (Y) if figure (Y) contains a part of figure (X).
  • In an embedded-figure question, we are required to select from the alternatives the figure that clearly shows the embedded portion of the original figure.
  • These questions test the ability to perceive and recognise a smaller or simpler shape inside a larger, more complex shape.
