The HSSC TGT English syllabus is designed to prepare candidates for recruitment as a Trained Graduate Teacher in English. It covers a variety of topics to ensure that potential teachers have a deep understanding of the English language and literature. Reading Comprehension
- Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret unseen texts. Three/four unseen reading passages may be set
Writing Ability
- One out of two tasks such as a factual description of any event or incident, a report or a process.
- Writing one formal letter. Letter types include
- Writing personal opinion/views/stand in an article/debate/speech etc on a given socio-cultural issue - in a style/register suitable to the task set. Issues could relate to (a) environment (b) education (c) gender discrimination (d) economic disparity etc.
Grammar and Usage

Write a detailed article using the information given. Retain the structure and the information mentioned and paraphrase the text. Make sure you do not miss any topic. Haryana HSSC TGT Teacher Exam Pattern 2024
Haryana TGT recruitment will be conducted in two stages. The stages and their respective marks distribution are as follows:
- Written Examination: 95 marks
- Socio-Economic Criteria and Experience: 5 marks

HSSC TGT Exam Pattern for Written Test
The HSSC TGT Written Exam will be an objective-type test consisting of 100 questions. The detailed exam pattern is outlined below:

- All questions are mandatory. For every unanswered question, 0.95 marks will be deducted.

If neither the applicant nor any person from the applicant's family is, was, or has been a regular employee in any Department/Board/Corporation/Company/Authority of the Government of Haryana or any other State Government of India. 5% If the candidate is a widow/the first or the second child, and his father had died before attaining the age of 42 years/the first or the second child, and his father had died before the applicant had attained the age of 15 years. 5% If the candidate belongs to a denotified tribe like Vimukt Jatis and Tapriwas Jatis/Nomadic tribe of the State of Haryana, which is neither a Scheduled Caste nor a Backward Class. 5%
