Structure & Role of the Mammalian Nervous System
- The human nervous system is divided into two main parts:
- The central nervous system (CNS): This includes the brain and spinal cord, serving as the command center for the body's functions.
- The peripheral nervous system (PNS): Comprising all the nerves outside the CNS, it connects the CNS to the rest of the body, enabling communication and control.
- Importance of the Nervous System:

- Nerve impulses, which are electrical signals, transmit information through the nervous system via specialized cells called neurons.
