She is currently in the seventh grade at the local middle school. Maya's character shines through her empathy and leadership, qualities that make her popular among her peers. Her family, originally from Ireland, values community and kindness, traits clearly reflected in Maya's interactions. An avid reader and painter, Maya spends her afternoons immersed in novels or covered in paint.
