Introduction

Tamil Nadu is a significant contributor to India's economy, ranking as the second largest contributor to the Indian GDP and one of the most industrialized states in the country. To further stimulate economic growth and attract both domestic and foreign investments, the Tamil Nadu government has introduced various subsidies and schemes across different sectors.

Capital Subsidy

  • Eligibility: Micro manufacturing and Micro Small Scale Industries (SSI) investing in capital assets like plant and machinery.
  • Subsidy Amount: 15% on eligible plant and machinery, up to a maximum of Rs. 30 lakhs.
  • Special Provision: An additional 5% subsidy (up to Rs. 2 lakhs) for enterprises owned by women, SC/ST, physically disabled, and transgender individuals.
  • Environmental Incentive: 25% subsidy on plant and machinery for businesses using cleaner and environmentally friendly technologies, subject to a maximum of Rs. 3 lakhs and certification by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board.

Employment Intensive Business Subsidy

  • Eligibility: Units located in backward blocks of industrial estates promoted by the government.
  • Subsidy Amount: Additional 5% subsidy (up to Rs. 5 lakhs) if at least 25 workers are employed for a minimum of 3 years within the first five years of production.
  • Documentation: Proof of employment through statutory returns such as Employees Provident Fund Act returns.

Agriculture Subsidy

  • Availability: Both capital and employment intensive business subsidies are applicable for agricultural businesses across all 385 blocks in Tamil Nadu.

Amma Seeds Scheme

Training Programme for Farmers

  • Works Covered: Includes percolation ponds, check dams, farm ponds, rejuvenation of wells, and village tanks.

Replacement of Old Pumpsets

World Bank Aided Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernization and Water Bodies Restoration and Management (TN IAMWARM) Project

  • Scope: Installation of irrigation systems, underground PVC pipes, community bore wells, and construction of water harvesting structures.

Minor Irrigation Scheme

Amma Master Health Checkup Scheme

  • Services Provided: Comprehensive health tests at nominal fees across various health institutions.

Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme
