The story "Going to a Hockey Game" is about a young boy named Makoto who is very excited to watch an ice hockey match between a Canadian team and his local team, The White Wolf. His mother had promised to take him, but she falls sick on the day of the match. Makoto feels very sad and disappointed.
He then asks his sister Asako to take him, though she has to study for an important test. After seeing how upset her little brother is, Asako lovingly agrees, but they must walk to the rink because she easily gets motion sickness while travelling by bus.
