This guide will walk you through a simple 1-year study plan that covers all the essential topics, helps you manage your time effectively, and keeps you on track. Whether you're just starting or already balancing a busy schedule, this plan is designed to suit everyone. Let's make your preparation journey smoother, step-by-step, so you feel confident and ready to succeed in the upcoming GPSC Class 1-2 Exam!

Month 1: Build a Strong Foundation in General Science, Ancient History of Gujarat, and Previous Years

• General Science: Focus on basic concepts in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Read NCERTs from Class 6-10. Emphasize day-to-day scientific concepts relevant for Prelims.
• History & Ancient History of Gujarat: Start with Indus Valley sites (Lothal, Dholavira), Mauryan influence, Maitraka dynasty, and Solanki period.
• Previous Year: Analyze the previous year questions as these will help you to build a basic understanding of what kind of questions can be asked in the paper so that your preparation is also aligned in the same way.

Month 2: Deepen Understanding of Medieval & Modern History of Gujarat, Geography, and Polity Basics

• Medieval & Modern History: Study Gujarat Sultanate, Mughal rule, Maratha influence, British period, Mahatma Gandhi's role (Dandi March), and Navnirman Andolan.
• Geography (including Physical, Agriculture, Human, Economic): Study Rann of Kutch, Gir forests, rivers (Narmada, Tapi, Sabarmati), ports, industries, and agriculture (cotton, groundnut).
• Polity: Study the Constitution basics and Gujarat's administrative structure.
• Previous Year: Along with revision also practice previous year questions as this will help in basic understanding of the questions asked.

Month 3: Focus on Art and Culture of Gujarat, Economy Basics, and General Mental Ability

• Culture: Study Garba, Dandiya, Rann Utsav, Modhera Sun Temple, Patola sarees, and Gujarati literature (Narsinh Mehta, Umashankar Joshi).
• Economy: Start with basic Indian economy and focus on Gujarat's industrial growth (GIFT City, ports), petrochemicals, diamonds, and agriculture.
• General Mental Ability: Practice logical reasoning, number series, and data interpretation. Focus on previous years' questions to develop problem-solving skills.

Month 4: Study Miscellaneous GK, Environment & Current Affairs Integration

• Miscellaneous GK of Gujarat: Cover famous personalities (Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel), wildlife (Asiatic Lion in Gir), festivals, and landmarks.
• Environment: Focus on Gir National Park, marine sanctuaries, coastal issues, and industrial pollution.
• Current Affairs Start: Begin daily reading with focus on Gujarat-related news (development, industry, culture).
• Here keep in mind to regularly revise what you have done previously.

Month 5: Focus on Essay Writing, Polity Depth, and Answer Writing

• Essay Writing: Analyze previous year questions to identify recurring topics and start practice essay writing daily on industrial growth, cooperative model, culture.
• Polity of Gujarat: Deepen understanding of state governance, local bodies, and key policies.
• Answer writing: From now on start answer writing for other subjects, you can start first with previous year and then can switch to mock tests.

Month 6: Strengthen Understanding of Polity, Economy, and Geography

• Indian Polity: Consolidate your preparation for polity with maximum revision of standard reference books.
• Economy: Study economic policies, rural development in India. Analyze Gujarat's growth model, industrial corridors, and recent budgets. Also revise recent budget of both India and Gujarat. This will streamline your preparation as per to latest current affairs.
• Geography: Revise physical, human, agricultural, and economic geography.
• Current Affairs: Revise current affairs regularly but keep a special revision of the last 6 months current affairs, with emphasis on Gujarat-specific developments.

Month 7: Focus on Science and Technology's Role in Development, Gujarati Language, and Mental Ability

• Science and Technology: Focus on technological advancements and their role in India's development. Pay attention to the applied aspects, especially in Gujarat (e.g., renewable energy, pharma).
• Gujarati Language: Revise and practice questions based upon previous year papers for the compulsory qualifying paper.
• General Mental Ability: Continue practicing with a focus on data interpretation, reasoning, and logical puzzles.

Month 8: Focus on Gujarati Language, Art & Culture Revision, and Current Affairs

• Gujarati Language: Focus on grammar, essay, comprehension, and precis. Refer to previous year to get a basic understanding of what kind of questions are generally asked, and practice regularly.
• Culture Revision: Deepen revision of dances, literature, and festivals.
• Current Affairs: Intensify Gujarat-specific schemes and developments.

Month 9: Revise and Deepen Understanding of History, Polity and Geography

• History: From now on start revising ancient, medieval and modern history with strong Gujarat focus (Solanki, Gujarat Sultanate, freedom struggle). Practice NCERT based question and standard reference book test for the same.
• Geography and Polity: Review all aspects of Indian and Gujarat's geography and polity.
• Prelims Revision: From this month onwards, more attention should be towards prelims, start giving mock tests weekly for the same.

Month 10: Review Economy, Miscellaneous GK, and Gujarati Language

• Economy: Review economic policies, planning, industries, and agriculture.
• Miscellaneous GK Revision: Deep revision of Gujarat facts.
• Gujarati Language: Practice questions based on previous year papers.

Month 11: Final Preparation in Science, Technology, Environment and Current Affairs

Month 12: Intensive Revision and Mock Tests

• Revision: Go through all topics from General Science, History, Polity, Economy, Geography, Art & Culture, Environment, and General Mental Ability, with heavy emphasis on Gujarat-specific content.
• Final Review: Focus on weak areas identified through mock tests. Review your notes and prepare for the exam with a final revision of all key topics.
