1. Early Cultivation Crops (Harappan Period)

Mnemonic: "BWRM-V" (Say: "Be Warm V")

  • B = Barley
  • W = Wheat
  • R = Rice
  • M = Millets
  • V = Vegetables

Remember: Harappans liked to "Be WARM" with these 5 crops!
How to use: Think "Be Warm" → Imagine ancient Harappans staying warm and healthy by growing these 5 basic food crops. First letter of each crop = BWRM-V!

2. Three Cropping Seasons

Mnemonic: "KRZ" (Say: "Crazy")

  • K = Kharif (Monsoon season: June-October)
  • R = Rabi (Winter season: October-April)
  • Z = Zaid (Summer season: March-July)

Remember: Farmers go "CRAZY" managing three seasons!
How to use: Just remember "CRAZY" (KRZ) → K comes first (Kharif starts in June), R is middle (Rabi is winter), Z is last (Zaid is summer). Practice saying "KRZ-Crazy" 5 times!

3. Kharif Crops (Monsoon Crops)

Mnemonic: "Rainy Months: Jowar, Bajra Give Sweet Cotton"

  • R = Rice
  • M = Maize
  • J = Jowar
  • B = Bajra
  • G = Groundnut
  • S = Sugarcane (Sweet)
  • C = Cotton

Remember: Kharif crops need HEAVY RAIN during monsoon - think of rice paddies full of water!
How to use: "Rainy Months" reminds you it's monsoon season (Kharif). Then follow the sentence: J-B-G-S-C. Picture farmers planting Rice and Maize when rainy months begin!

Mnemonic: "We Buy Peas Must Grow"

  • We = Wheat
  • Buy = Barley
  • Peas = Peas
  • Must = Mustard

Remember: In WINTER, "We Buy" warm foods like wheat bread!

Mnemonic: "All Black Rats Like Desert Mountains"

  • All = Alluvial soil (river plains - most fertile)
  • Black = Black soil (cotton soil - Deccan)

  • S = Small landholdings

Remember: Even cows face challenges - they want oats!

9. Two Important Irrigation Systems

Mnemonic: "Drip and Spray"
