Day 7: Activity of the Week

Important Note for Learners:
Day 7 is a full-week practice day. You will not learn new topics today. Instead, you will use everything you learned in Week 1 to speak more freely, confidently, and naturally. Do not worry about mistakes-today is about practice, progress, and confidence.

Activity Type: Week 1 Speaking Practice

Focus: Fluency, Confidence, Self-Correction & Real Speaking

Total Time: 30-35 Minutes

Activity 1: One-Minute Topic Switch

Task:  You will speak on two related topics without stopping. Speak for 30 seconds on Topic A, then immediately switch to Topic B and speak for another 30 seconds. The goal is to continue speaking smoothly without restarting. 

​Topic Pairs:

1. Your Room → Your House

Talk about your room first (size, things inside, how you feel there), then smoothly move to your house (people living there, atmosphere, shared spaces).

2. A Person You Meet Daily → A Place You Go Daily

Speak about one person you meet every day, then switch to one place you go daily and explain why it is important in your routine.

3. One Thing You Like → One Thing You Want to Change

First talk about something positive in your life, then switch to one thing you want to improve or change.

4. Your Work / Study → Your Free Time

Speak about what you do for work or study, then switch to how you spend your free time and why it matters to you.

5. One Habit → One Problem

Talk about one habit you have, then explain one problem related to that habit or in your daily life.

Activity 2: Story from Clues

Task:  You will create a short spoken story using all the given clues. Your story does not need to be perfect, but it must be clear and connected. Speak continuously for 2 minutes.

  • Morning
  • Phone
  • Family
  • Food
  • Late

Your story should include all the clues naturally, as if you are talking about a real day in your life.

Activity 3: Confidence Reflection

Task:  Speak honestly about your learning experience this week. There are no right or wrong answers. Focus on expressing your thoughts clearly. 

​Reflection Prompts:

  • What felt difficult for you on Day 1?
  • What feels easier now?
  • One sentence you can say confidently today

This activity helps you recognise your progress and build confidence in your speaking ability.

Activity 4: Say It Better (Speak → Improve → Sound Natural)

Task:  For each situation below: 
1) Speak the first sentence aloud. 
2) Pause briefly. 
3) Speak the improved version aloud.  
Notice how the second sentence sounds clearer, more natural, and more confident.
