43 - (70)
= 43 - 70
= -27

(-31) - (17)
= -31 - 17
= -48

= 56 + 9

⇒ x = -48 - 17
⇒ x = -65
Thus, the other integer is -65.

Initial temperature at 6 p.m. = 1°C
Final temperature at midnight = -4°C
Change in temperature = Final temperature - Initial temperature
= (-4) - (1)
= -5°C

So, the temperature has changed -5°C.
