SSAT Analogy Worksheet 25

The following questions ask you to find relationships between words. For each question, select the answer choice that best completes the meaning of the sentence.

Sample:
Kitten is to cat as
  1. fawn is to mare

Answer: (D) puppy is to dog

The correct answer is (D). A kitten is a young cat, just as a puppy is a young dog. While choices (B) and (E) involve young animals, they are not of the same species as indicated in the second term of those pairs in the way that kitten and cat are the same species.
