Reporting time, what to bring, dress code, prohibited items, exam room rules

What to carry

• Printed admit card (downloaded from neet.nta.nic.in) - no digital copies accepted; carry the printout only.
• One original valid photo ID - Aadhaar / Passport / Voter ID / Driving Licence; carry the original document, not a photocopy.
• Postcard-size photograph (same as uploaded during registration) for pasting where instructed in the exam room; keep an extra copy as a backup.
• PwD certificate (original), if applicable - carry the certificate issued by the competent authority for any permitted concessions.
• Transparent water bottle - allowed in most centres; verify allowance from the instructions on your admit card.

What NOT to carry

• Mobile phone - strictly prohibited; possession inside the exam centre may lead to cancellation of candidature.
• Smart watch or any electronic device - includes calculators, fitness bands, Bluetooth devices, earphones, wireless devices.
• Wallet, purse, or handbag - do not carry valuables; lockers may not be available at the centre.
• Your own pen or pencil - pens will be provided inside the hall; do not bring any writing implements.
• Any study material or notes - including loose sheets, slips, printed notes, textbooks, or formula sheets.
• Geometry box, calculator, or correction fluid - strictly prohibited.

Dress code

• No specific uniform is required, but avoid full-sleeve clothing where possible as sleeves may be checked during security screening.
• Caps, hats and scarves are not allowed; religious exceptions may apply but require prior permission from NTA and appropriate checks at entry.
• Wear light shoes rather than heavy boots; footwear may be scanned or checked at the entry point.
• Avoid wearing metal jewellery as metal detectors are used at most centres and such items may cause additional checks or delay.

Inside the exam hall

• A ballpoint pen will be provided inside the hall - do not bring your own pen.
• Rough work must be done only in the designated space in the test booklet; do not write on the OMR sheet.
• Once an answer is marked on the OMR sheet, it cannot be erased or changed; mark carefully and only with the pen provided.
• Marking more than one option for a question is treated as wrong and -1 is deducted for that question.
• Biometric verification (fingerprint) will be conducted; co-operate with invigilators and follow their instructions during verification.
• Candidates who arrive after 1:30 PM may not be allowed entry - plan travel to the centre to reach well before the gate closing time.

After the exam

• You may leave the hall only after the full 3 hours - early exit is not permitted in most centres.
• You are usually permitted to keep the test booklet for self-evaluation; follow the instructions of the invigilator before leaving.
• Do not take the OMR sheet out of the hall - removal of answer sheet is prohibited.

Quick checklist before leaving home

• Printed admit card and the original photo ID.
• Postcard-size photograph (same as uploaded) and PwD certificate if applicable.
• Wear comfortable, light clothing and footwear that eases security checks.
• Leave mobile phones, electronic devices, study materials and valuables at home.
• Reach the centre well before 1:00 PM to allow time for security and biometric formalities.

If you have any centre-specific queries or exceptional requirements, refer to the instructions printed on your admit card or the official NTA communication. Follow all directions given by centre staff and invigilators; non-compliance may affect your candidature.
