Memory Tip: Almost 3 years! Think of it like a date - 2/11/18. Also, from December 9, 1946 (first meeting) to November 26, 1949 (adoption) = 2 years, 11 months, 18 days of hard work!

Original Constitution: Articles, Parts & Schedules

What needs to be memorized: Original numbers in the Constitution when adopted in 1949

Mnemonic: "Original Constitution: Almost 400 (395), 22 parts ko 8 schedules"

  • 395 Articles (remember: almost 400, exactly 395)
  • 22 Parts (double 2 = 22)
  • 8 Schedules (8 is ate - we ate 8 schedules!)

Memory Tip: Pattern "3-9-5, 2-2, 8" or think "Almost 400 articles divided into 22 parts with 8 schedules"

Current Constitution: Articles, Parts & Schedules (After Amendments)

What needs to be memorized: Current numbers in the Constitution after various amendments

Mnemonic: "Current: 450 ke aas-paas (448+), 25 parts, 12 schedules (12th tak badh gaya)"

  • 448+ Articles (remember: around 450, but officially 448+)
  • 25 Parts (quarter century = 25)

  • 114 Days of actual sittings (think: emergency number 100 + 14)

Memory Tip: Remember the progression - 11 sessions contained 165 meetings spread over 114 working days. Pattern: 11-165-114 (smallest to middle to smaller)

Preamble Keywords (SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC)

What needs to be memorized: Five key adjectives describing India in the Preamble

Mnemonic: "SSDR Double - Sovereign Socialist Secular Democratic Republic"

  • JUSTICE → Social, Economic, and Political justice
  • LIBERTY → Of thought, expression, belief, faith, and worship
  • EQUALITY → Of status and opportunity
  • FRATERNITY → Promoting unity and dignity of individual

Memory Tip: "JELF" sounds like "jell karo" (gel/unite). These came from French Revolution's ideals (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity) + we added Justice!
