Constitutional Articles for Election Commission (324, 325, 326)

What needs to be memorized: Article 324 (Superintendence, direction and control), Article 325 (No discrimination in voting), Article 326 (Adult suffrage)

Mnemonic: "Cricket match ki tarah yaad karo - 3-2-4, 3-2-5, 3-2-6:
3-2-4: SUPER control (Superintendence)
3-2-5: SAB equal hain (no discrimination)
3-2-6: SIXER sirf adults (adult suffrage - adults play cricket)"

🔗 The Breakdown:

  • 324SUPER control → Superintendence, direction and control of elections by EC
  • 325SAB equal → No person ineligible on grounds of religion, race, caste, or sex
  • 326SIXER adults → Elections based on adult suffrage (18+ can vote)

Major Powers and Functions of Election Commission

Process: IBS - I Buy Special mangoes
Grounds: MI - Misbehavior ya Incapacity"

What needs to be memorized: 6 years term OR 65 years of age (whichever is earlier), salary and conditions fixed by Parliament, cannot be varied to their disadvantage after appointment

Mnemonic: "6-65 FIXED Rule
Double 6 yaad rakho: 6 years ya 65 age - jo bhi PEHLE aa jaye
Everything FIXED hai - salary aur conditions reduce nahi ho sakte"
