Tenure of Members

What needs to be memorized: 5 years or until age limit (whichever is earlier) for both Chairperson and Members

Mnemonic: "PAANCH saal ki guarantee - age limit se pehle nikal jayenge!"

  • PAANCH (5) → 5 years term for all
  • OR age limit → 70 for Chair, 65 for Members
  • Whichever earlier → Both conditions apply simultaneously

Types of Expert Members

What needs to be memorized: Two categories - (1) Administrative Expert Members, (2) Technical Expert Members

  • TTechnical Expert Members (from environmental sciences, engineering, etc.)

What needs to be memorized: Principal Bench is located in New Delhi; other benches can be established elsewhere
