The Tripura government launched the GPS (Global Positioning System) and wireless-based 24x7 mobile policing service. It will help in curbing crime, especially against women. To operate the 'mobile policing' service, a police van or a small vehicle with police personnel would keep patrolling round-the-clock in their assigned zone.

To enhance the representation of women in the state police, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has approved raising two women battalions for Jammu and Kashmir Police. One battalion each would be raised for Jammu region and Kashmir region. 60% of posts would be kept reserved for women of 10 border districts namely, Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Poonch, Rajouri, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Kargil and Leh.

India would introduce retaliatory tariffs worth $240 million soon on a revised list of 30 items imported from the United States to counter United States move to increase duties on Indian steel and aluminium. This move has been made at a time when India is planning to negotiate a "trade package" with the United States to ease tensions between both the countries. In the revised list, India has reduced the proposed maximum additional duties from 100% (on walnuts) to 50% (on Harley-Davidson). India had asked the US government to exempt it from its 25% tax on steel and 10% on aluminium imposed by US President Donald Trump on the basis of national security.

Muthoot Fincorp Limited announced its partnership with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Under the scheme, Muthoot Fincorp targets to train over 10,000 people over the next three years and make them job ready under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. NSDC has approved a target of 3,000 candidates in the first year and 3,500 each in the subsequent two years.

The conference on implementation of National Pension System (NPS) by the Central Autonomous Bodies (CABs) was held in New Delhi. It was organized by Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA). The prime objective of the conference was to provide a forum to all the CABs, where the progress in the implementation of NPS with respect to compliance of timelines in various NPS related activities could be brought to the fore and a way forward could be provided.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) became the first company to close the trading session with a market valuation of over Rs 7 trillion. The Mumbai-headquartered TCS had in April became the first Indian company to close the trading session with over $100 billion market valuation. TCS is the country's most valued firm followed by Reliance Industries Ltd, HDFC Bank, HUL and ITC in the top 5 list.

Reliance Industries said that, it is investing in establishing India's first carbon fibre manufacturing unit to cater the aerospace and defence sectors. Reliance Industries will also make low-cost and high-volume composite products such as modular toilets, homes and composites for windmill blades and rotor blades. Reliance Industries has not revealed its investment details. It has said in its annual report that, it has developed capabilities for 3D printing of wide-range of plastic and metals products. Reliance Industries is enhancing its petrochemicals business to capture Rs30,000 crore composites market. It has planned to manufacture graphene, enhanced plastics and elastomers, fibre reinforced composites that can replace steel. The focus areas are: wind mill blades and parts for railways and metros, which have exacting standards of performance and safety (especially fire retardant).

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu laid foundation stone for sewage management system and Storm water drainage system in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. This schemes are under government's Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme. This aims to enable basic facilities like drainage system, basic water harvesting system in the region. This would ensure implementation of proper urban planning system.

Flying Officer Meghana Shanbough MR from Karnataka has become the first woman Indian Air Force fighter pilot from south India. Before her, only five other female fighter pilots have joined the ranks. She graduates from the Air Force Academy (AFA) in Dundigal.

Russia has successfully launched a Glonass- M positioning satellite by using a Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket from the Plesetsk space center on June 17, 2018. The Glonass network provides real-time positioning data for surface, sea and airborne objects around the globe, at an accuracy reportedly at par with the U.S. Global Positioning System

The Railways has decided to replace the existing book-like medical cards issued to its employees and pensioners with credit card-like health cards carrying unique all-India number. At present, the medical cards issued by the zonal railways are in the form of booklets which resemble ration cards. Currently, railway has around 13 lakh employees and around the same number of pensioners and all their dependents are eligible to use the medical card.
