External Affairs Minister (EAM) of India, Dr. S. On September 5, 2019, the Union Health Minister Shri Harsh Vardhan launched mass media campaign POSHAN Maah (nutrition campaign) 2019 to promote the “eat right India movement” (launched 10th July 2018) to improve public health and combat negative nutritional trends. The campaign will have weekly themes in the upcoming 365 days. This movement is aligned with the government’s flagship public health programmes such as POSHAN Abhiyaan, Anemia Mukt Bharat, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and Swachh Bharat Mission.

Country’s tallest ATC tower starts operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport. With a view to reduce airspace congestion over Delhi, which would also result in lower carbon emissions, a new air traffic control (ATC) tower started its official operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airpor. The new control tower also aims to ease the pressure on controllers and provide relief to flyers from delays. Hardeep Singh Puri, Union minister of state for civil aviation, attended the commissioning of the new tower along with senior officers from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the civil aviation ministry.

Assam is the most species-rich State in India in terms of turtle diversity. About 70 hatchlings of the rare Black Softshell and Indian Softshell turtles bred in the ponds of two temples in Assam were released in the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, about 50 km east of Guwahati. The sanctuary is often called ‘Mini Kaziranga’ because of similar landscape and a sizeable population of the one-horned rhino.

INS Tarkash, a state-of-the-art stealth frigate of the Indian Navy equipped with a versatile range of weapons arrived at Lagos in Nigeria as part of a visit that seeks to strengthen bonds of friendship between the two countries, officials said.
