The much-awaited consecration ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla was held in Ayodhya, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the rituals at the newly constructed grand temple. He also unveiled the idol of Ramlala in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. During the ceremony, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel also worshiped Ram Lalla.

Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Daljit Singh Chaudhary has been appointed Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Daljeet Singh is a 1990 batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. The post of SSB Director General was vacant after former chief Rashmi Shukla was appointed DGP of Maharashtra earlier this month. The SSB guards India's borders with Nepal and Bhutan.

India International Science Festival (IISF) 2023 was organized in Haryana from January 17 to 20, 2024. It was concluded in the presence of state Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. President of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Dennis Francis, reached New Delhi on a five-day visit to India. The Ministry of External Affairs said, this visit is an opportunity to advance India-United Nations relations and exchange views on India's priorities and global challenges. On the occasion of Republic Day on January 26, Francis will participate in Maharashtra's Republic Day Parade as the state guest.

Kuchipudi dancer Pendyala Lakshmi Priya was honored with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2024 by President Draupadi Murmu. Priya, a 15-year-old class 10 student from Kazipet, Telangana, was honored for her excellence in the field of art and culture. A record drought hitting the Amazon rainforest has revealed petroglyphs carved by humans up to 2,000 years ago that are now partly submerged in one of the largest rivers in the region. The pre-Columbian engravings were found at a point in the Brazilian city of Manaus, where the Negro River’s dark waters meet the Amazon River. The images carved into the rocks depict humans, animals and geometric shapes, such as squares and circles.

A vision document aimed at making India a developed country is in its final stages and a draft is expected to be ready by December, as per NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam.
NITI Aayog was tasked with the consolidation of the ten sectoral thematic visions in July this year including infrastructure, welfare, commerce and industry, technology, and governance. NITI Aayog has also forecasted that India’s economy will be worth $30 trillion in 2047, with a per capita GDP of $17,590.

India is on track to operationally deploy its own long-range air defense system by 2028-29. This indigenous system is designed to detect and destroy a wide array of threats, including stealth fighters, aircraft, drones, cruise missiles, and precision-guided munitions at ranges of up to 350 km.
The ambitious project, known as Project Kusha, is under the purview of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). The Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (LR-SAM) is being developed to provide interception capabilities similar to the Russian S-400 Triumf air defense system recently inducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for Amrit Vatika and Amrit Mahotsav Memorial and launched the Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) platform, designed for the country’s youth.
