Objective questions are beneficial to assess the knowledge of the complete syllabus in short time. Maximum syllabus can be covered by making objective type questions. Hence, this is the ideal way to assess whether the child has prepared entire syllabus or not.

'If you are given 100 rupees, what will you do?' The objective of asking this type of question is to give place to child's experience and thinking. The child will think how he can use 100 rupees judiciously and take into account his previous experience in doing so. This makes students to choose from among multiple answers and hence they could be engaged in thinking rationally. The answers that come out are also subjective, unlike the direct questions, which fail to evaluate the thought process of students.

Behaviour of primary level students can be assessed by periodic observation of activities of the students. This provides a direct way of assessment. By observing the behaviour of a student, the teacher can understand his/her needs and can also get to know about him/her better.

MCQ's doesn't require to recall an answer and are appropriate for recognizing the answer from the given options.

Assessment eventually improves student's learning. Student can improve his learning by knowing his mistakes through assessment. He can learn from his past mistakes and can improve his performance in the next assessment.

Observation is an assessment tool which helps in evaluating student, both individually and in a group. It also helps teacher in understanding the students and making adjustment in the learning methods accordingly.

A portfolio is a purposeful collection of student work samples, student self-assessments, and goal statements that reflect student progress. Portfolio includes all photographs, assessment sheets, and audio-visual recordings.
