returns to scale then the output doubles
doubling the inputs doubles the output
this is known as constant returns to
scale doubling the inputs and getting
less than double the output shows
decreasing returns to scale doubling the
inputs and getting more than twice the
output shows increasing returns to scale
the cobb-douglas production function is
often used in economics take the
function Q raised to the power 0.5 times
L raised to the power 0.5 or the square
root of K times L here the exponents add
up to 1 this function has constant
returns to scale
if the exponents added up to less than 1
like point 7 5 then the function has
decreasing returns to scale if the sum
of the exponents is greater than 1 then
