okay so here we are back again at the
keyboard along with a new scale thus a
new type of key so now we are in the key
of a major
so if you remember back from the theory
videos especially the ones with the
circle of fifths you'll remember that
the key of a major has three sharps F
sharp C sharp and G sharp so if you're
confused about that you can go back and
look at I think it's theory lessons
three four and five I need to make
theory more Theory lessons there are
some on the way so here we have the key
a major so we have to watch out for F
sharp C sharp and G sharp so even though
they're not written right next to the
note because they're written in the key
signature actually I can show you I'll
Circle the key signature with my pointer
it's actually a little dot sorry about
that this is actually right here is the
key signature I drew the line right over
it and that tells you which notes are
sharp and even though the F sharp C
sharp and G sharp are only over you know
specifically the the top line the middle
space and the space above the staff they
apply to every F sharp C sharp and G
sharp even if they're not written on the
same line that's designated earlier on
in the the example so I've written here
for you the note names and I reminded
you of where the sharps are as well as
the fingering of finger numbers so here
we're just going to start with our right
hand got finger one on a finger two on B
finger three on C sharp and as soon as
you hit this C sharp you're gonna tuck
your thumb under underneath to hit D
with one then you got a with - you got F
sharp with three G sharp with four then
you got a with five coming back down you
got a with five g sharp with four F
sharp a three e with two in the last
measure here we got D with one and don't
forget that we have C sharp
with three so as soon as you hit the D
with one you'll pivot to hit c-sharp of
3 B with 2 and a with 1 the left hand
down here I'm actually when you can let
me talk about the right hand just a
little longer so once you are familiar
with how the right hand works it should
sound like this of course in the
beginning you won't be able to play it
quite that fast but that's what you
should work up to it might take you a an
entire week or maybe in two weeks to get
up to that speed so you always want to
try it slowly at first so here at the
left hand we got 5 with 4 5 with 4 a
with 5 sorry be with 4 and don't forget
though we have C sharp with 3 that's C
sharp
you got D with - and then you got eat
with 1 as soon as you hit eat with one
you want to pivot to be able to hit F
sharp with 3 G sharp with 2 and a with
one coming back down you got a with 1 G
sharp with two after up with 3 and then
as soon as you hit that F sharp you want
to pick what kind of pivot but you want
to tuck your thumb underneath pity with
1 D with to see short with 3b with 4 and
a with 5 so from beginning and it should
sound like this
now when you're putting them hands
together remember that you wanted to go
very slowly and you want to go note by
note so what I mean by that is you want
to hit the first note here and you want
to double check to make sure both
fingers are hitting on the right finger
or yeah on the right note sorry with the
right finger so here we got right hand
one with G and with left hand five so
that's correct you move on the next note
okay let me double check the fingering
here okay that looks good then you got
C's over three and okay that looks good
to me and then you're going to play D
with one and D with two okay looks good
and if it doesn't look good go back and
try again obviously so then you got a
with two and you with one and then you
got f-sharp with threes do you sharp
with four and two and then a with one
and then coming back down you want to do
the same thing where you go note by note
and check okay that looks good to make
sure that you have the right fingering
with the right notes
so it's very natural when you first put
the hands together that you won't be
able to do it quite as well no but
you'll have to do it very very slowly
and like I said note by note so that's
how you should approach it so once you
get the entire scale forward to backward
it should sound like this
again that speed is something you would
work up to you might start out very
slowly
they go from there and then as you play
through it a bunch of times you can get
faster and faster each time so there you
go a quick lesson for you that was the
explanation of the scale and key of a
major remember a major has three sharps
F sharp C sharp and G sharp so don't
forget about those because even though
they're not written next to every one of
those notes they still apply if it's in
the key signature unless it tells you
otherwise which will go over those
circumstances sometime hopefully in the
