Burns 302 Burn Hip and Groin Stretches Video Lecture - Introduction

this video is intended for instructional
purposes for patients with skin burns

find out which stretches are appropriate
for you this video will walk you through
the recommended hip and groin stretches
for your burn
it is important to perform these
stretches every hour you are awake hold
each stretch for at least 30 seconds and
perform each stretch 10 to 15 times
lunges this stretch can be performed in
two different ways
standing on even ground or using a chair
if you are performing this stretch on
even ground step back with your leg and
bend your knees tilting your hips back
as if you are tucking your bottom under
you to stretch the front of your hip
if you are using a chair step up with
your right leg to achieve a stretch on
the front of your left hip
forward bending
sit at the edge of a chair bed or table
and lean forward as far as you can you
should be able to feel a strong stretch
over the back of your hip and buttocks
crossed leg stretch sit at the edge of a
chair or table cross your right leg over
your left leg gently push your knee
toward the ground to feel the stretch on
your hip and groin
combined front and back hip stretch
sitting on your bed scoot forward so
that your bottom is at the edge of the
bed bring your left knee towards your
chest and let your right leg hang down
off the edge of the bed you should feel
a strong stretch at the front of your
right hip and that your left buttock you
can repeat this on the other side for a
stretch on the opposite side
frogs stretch
lay on your back or sit on the flat
surface bend your knees and slide your
feet toward your buttocks keeping your
heels together let your knees fall to
the side and use your hands to push your
knees down for a stronger stretch you
should feel a strong stretch in your
