Control Bitwig Studio with BLOCKS Video Lecture | Introduction to Seaboard Rise: Advance Music Production

clocks dashboard allows you to configure
Rolly blocks with your favorite music
software and plugin in this video I'm
going to show you some of what you can
do with blocks in bitwixe studio using
blocks dashboard dashboard allows you to
control every element of blocks you can
change how they're laid out what they
control and how they react all these
kinds of preferences can be saved
together as modes modes allow you to
customize your blocks to fit your
workflow bit wig is an especially
compatible da to use with blocks because
of its powerful modulators I'm going to
lay down some tracks using three
different modes on for litepad blocks on
this block I've got a 5x5 grid
highlighting the notes of a minor scale
the second block is set up as an X Y Z
pad and I'm using the third and fourth
blocks as a bank of faders this X Y Z
pad controls bit wigs XY instrument
device which allows me to control 4
instruments simultaneously and then mix
between them the four instruments I'm
using are from roly's equator sound
engine I've assigned a different equator
patch to each corner on the XY pad

this is a really powerful sound design
tool but the litepad block adds another
dimension with pressure in this case I'm
using it to control reverb
now I'm going to record a loop by
playing notes on the 5x5 grid and using
the XYZ pad to control the sound okay
now I'm going to launch a percussion
loops we can get a groove okay now I'm
going to record a bass line with
biblical extent using the same 5x5 grid

okay now I want to modulate that
baseline I just recorded I'm using these
faders to control the step not device so
I can control filter changes over time
in a rhythmic way

okay and now to play a little with
Native Instruments matches the sense
does not by default interpret the
expressive gestures of the light pad
block however with bit wigs expression
modulator I can easily set all five
dimensions of touch to control different
aspects of sound
