the software for the Mac OS in the
previous two videos we installed the
required software for the windows so let
us now proceed and check out how do we
install the Java JDK for Cortland
programming in case of Mac now you must
be wondering we are about to start the
Cortland programming series so where the
heck this Java JDK is coming from now to
execute a Cortland program we need to
use the Java Virtual Machine and that
Java Virtual Machine is actually found
inside the Java JDK so we need to
install the Java JDK in order to make
our cortland program Renne so let's get
started so here again in the Google
simply type Java JDK right hit enter and
simply go for the first link that is
from the oracle.com which is the
official site to download the Java so
here you will find under the Downloads
tab the Java SE downloads now Java SE
download is basically the Java standard
addition there are other additions for
Java as well but this one is the
standard one for making any application
the other one is that Java EE and Java
ME Java e is actually the Enterprise
Edition right so let us now proceed and
download the Java SE so simply click on
here and then you will be shown this
page so here down the side you will find
Java SE development kit and the version
name so I will simply accept the license
agreement and then down the side if you
are using Mac then simply go to Mac OS
option and then hit on download so after
downloading the java jdk you will find
it within the default downloads folder
so let us navigate to downloads folder
within which here is our jdk downloaded
so let us open it and now
click to install and then let us follow
the normal protocol to install any
application in case of Mac OS let us
click on continue and then install type
install and simply enter your macbook
password which is being asked for the
security purpose right so install
software
so here the installation was completed
successfully now simply close it and now
to verify if the Java JDK has been
installed in your Mac or not for that
you need to simply open the terminal
window so command space and simply
search for the terminal so here simply
type Java hit enter so here you can see
what are the commands that you can type
along with Java so if you get this
result in the output so you can be now
sure that your Java has been installed
now down the side let us check out the
version of Java that we have installed

we go Java version 1.8 and something
