Perl Tutorial - 28 Foreach Loop Video Lecture - Perl Building Blocks An

hello guys welcome to my channel this is
the 28 you told in this course and in
this tutorial we'll be talking about the
for each loop in Perl
so the for each loop is you know it
works best when you use it for I trading
over the elements in a list and that is
what we're gonna do in the script that I
have opened here it's called for each
and in this script on line number 3 I
have created a list called tennis and
you know this is the array variable and
I have used the add the red symbol to
create this and then within parentheses
I mentioned the following values so I
have names of tennis players novak roger
& EK Bowditch and Rafa and then on line
number four I have a print statement
that's going to display the text the top
tennis players in the world are and
there's a new line escape sequence at
the end and then what you want to do is
we want to display the names of all the
players in this list but you want to
display each name on a different line
and you know if you would just print the
contents of this tennis list the way it
is right now then you would see all the
names on the same line but that's not
what we want and you know for each loop
can allow you to do that but that's not
the only thing that for each loop is
useful
basically it allows you to pick one
value in one iteration of the loop and
you also don't have to specify the
number of times you want you know it to
run it automatically stops when the
elements in the list have been processed
when all the elements have been
processed basically and syntax wise it's
very simple on line number six I have
placed the keyword for each and then
I've given a space and I have you know
put a dummy variable so you know this is
going to be like a placeholder so in the
first iteration of the loop it's gonna
pick Novak in the second iteration it's
gonna have the value Roger the throw
right iteration it's gonna be Andy so on
and so forth so it's like a placeholder
for the elements in the list tennis and
then finally within parentheses I've
mentioned the name of the list on which
I want the for each loop to I tread so
you know that's tennis and since this is
a list
you have to use the add red symbol here
and then inside the the body of the for
each loop I just have a print statement
which is going to display the value
that's currently stored in the variable
dollar Val and of course I have a
newline escape sequence at the end
because I want all the names to be
printed on different lines so I'll make
sure that the script is saved and I
press f5 and there we go we see the top
tennis players in the world are Novak
Roger and DK board H and Rafa and you
know this list was made the long time
ago and you know these guys might not be
at the top you know currently I know for
sure that Roger is not number two player
in the world anymore random array is the
number two player and of course Stan
Wawrinka is missing in this list but I I
hope I do not offend you know tennis
fans this script was prepared long time
ago the objective was to demonstrate the
syntax of for each and I hope you guys
