on Driving Store Sales with AdWords. My name
is Antony Ho and I'm a Product Marketing
Manager at Google focusing on AdWords Best
Practices. In this video we're going to talk
about keyword best practices when it comes
to your local campaigns. Specifically, how
to ensure that your ads are showing up for
the local searches that are happening around
your business locations.
I'll cover 2 things: Using phrase and broad
match to help you capture those local searches
and then turning high volume queries that
you discover into exact match for greater
control. First up you want to include the
phrase and broad match variations of your
keywords. For example, if you're marketing
a café and want to capture all local queries
relevant to your business make sure to include
the phrase and broad match variations of your
keywords.
What this will do is help to trigger your
ad for all the relevant variations of your
keywords. If you'd like to show up for searches
like "coffee shop" for example, this strategy
will help you show up for variations of that.
Like, "coffee shop near" me or "café in San
Francisco". By taking advantage of the different
match types you can save time from having
to add and manage all possible combinations
of keywords and location descriptions.
Then, If you discover any high volume queries
from your phrase and broad match keywords,
you can convert those into exact match for
better control. To recap what we've learned,
use phrase and broad match to help you capture
local searches and then turn any high volume
