MIPS Tutorial 9 Subtracting Integers Video Lecture | MIPS Assembly Programming Simplified - Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

hello guys well welcome back and this is
a male and I'm here to teach you to do
subtraction with integers so I already
taught you how to do addition
so subtraction is pretty much the same
but a little bit different so let me
show you so let's begin that data that
text for the instructions so therefore
the data text for the instructions
that's what I always say so right here I
need two numbers so I'm gonna say number
number one and I'm gonna say it's gonna
be an integer so it's a word so the
values got a bit 20 and then I need
another number number two and it's gonna
be an integer as well and the value is
going to be eight all right eight so now
I wanna load because right here these
two values are in random access memory
and when I load them to a register I
mean to two registers so load word I'm
gonna load load it to the low sign as
zero I'm gonna say number one and this
is the first time that I'm using a zero
here so as zero these registers remember
if you are using a function if you're
calling a function then those functions
are not allowed to modify this these
this register right here but don't worry
about it I'll teach you that later so
load word now let me move to the other
side s1 number two so I'm gonna make
some comments here so s0 gets a value of
number one so it would be 20 right
so s1 gets a value of 8 so now that I
have these numbers right here let's say
that I want to
subtract the numbers so how am I gonna
do it I'm gonna do subtract I want to
store the value in the design T 0 I
wanna say the design s 0 till assign s 1
so it says T 0 gets a value of s 0 minus
s 1 so T 0 gets a value of 20 minus 8 t
0 gets a value of 20 minus 8 and finally
I want to print it out so I'm gonna do
load immediate dollar sign this 0 to
pruning integer the code is 1 so I'm
telling the system that I want to print
an integer and now I'm gonna use a
pseudo instruction called move and I can
move the value from T 0 to a 0 so this
is just moving the value from T 0 to a 0
so I know because all the time I need to
tell the system what I want to print out
and what I tell it is by putting a value
in a 0 so I'm just moving the value the
the subtraction or the result I'm
putting it in a 0 and I know in our and
now the system nodes now the system
knows what it has to print out and
finally Cisco or do it let me clear the
screen right here I now save it wrong
assemble and I'm gonna execute or wrong
in one step so as you can see I get the
value 12 the value 12 in the bottom so
right here I stored two numbers in
random access memory 28 now I'm loading
the numbers to s0 and number two I'm
putting the value in s 1 then I'm
subtracting a 0 minus s1 and the value
is going to be stored in T 0 and then I
Prinny round and as you can see 20 minus
8 is 12 and the result is down here so
