new to turbocad 2016 the loft tool can
now use points as 2d profiles lofting
two points allows you to create 3d
objects which end or pass through a
single point like a cone or pyramid this
point just like other entities can be
associative to the 3d object so moving
the point will update your model shapes
can also be used as points in this
example I've created an hourglass using
circles for profiles and a circle point
unlike dots shapes are not infinitely
small notice how changing the size of
the point affects the model to use the
loft tool you will need profiles on
different work planes you then select
the entities for the loft and hit the
finish flag in this example I use the
star point so you can see what's going
on in the video if I change the star to
a dot the entity will end in a point
another advantage of using points is
that they can be constrained the pyramid
in this drawing was constructed with the
point of the pyramid constrained to the
2d profile this way the point will
always be at the center of the rectangle
regardless of what changes are made
