How To Work With Joint Venture Partners & Sell More Online Courses Video

Hey this is Tyler and welcome back to teach
online TV.
Now on the last video, I introduce you to
the topic of joint ventures and I talked about
some of the benefits of working with the joint
ventures partner and what exactly a joint
venture partner is and where to find some
potential joint venture partners to reach
out to.
Now today I’m gonna tell you how to approach
these joint venture partners and how to work
with them to get them to promote your course
to their audio.
Now rule number one with joint ventures, is
that you want to approach them from a position
of adding value, you don’t wanna reach out
to people that you don’t know and ask them
to promote you specially if they don’t know
you cause it’s basically gonna be like spamming
them, first step into eventually getting in
joint venture with somebody is to add some
value to them first.
If they got a blog go and comment on their
blog share some of the articles. If they're on social media,
start conversational social media, if they
have a Facebook group get in that facebook
group and add some value to other members
in their group you basically wanna do things
that get their attention in a good way, you
wanna support their work put a compliment
to their work if can become a customer that’s
even better if you buy there book or you buy
their course that’s a great way to get your foot on the door because that shows that you are willing
to support their work.
So that’s rule number one, it’s always
add value before you ask someone to promote
you to a few things to help them and to help
promote their business before you ask them
to promote yours. Now once you’ve done that
and once you’re on the radar and they figured
out who you are but haven’t quite approached
them yet, the next step is to send them an
e-mail, so this is where you wanna introduce
yourself, let them know who you are how you
found the work maybe compliment them or say
something about what you’re doing that you
really like and just let them know that you
guys serve a similar audience and that you
have a course that their audience might be
interested in and you’d like to discuss
the possibility of doing a joint venture together.
So that’s what you wanna put in your e-mail
and when you hear back from them, you wanna offer
them a schedule call. It’s very seldom that
someone if they’ve never met you before
they will greet and promote you just base
on the e-mail it always helps to get on a
skype or get on the phone and actually have
conversation with them, build some rapport
talk about how you gonna work together before
you ask him to commit to promoting you.
Now after you have spoken with them on the
phone and you guys have agreed that you gonna
go ahead and you’re gonna and you’re going
to work together here’s the most common
way of doing it so.
Now one of the best ways to sell an online
course is from a live webinar so what you
wanna do is arrange to host to webinar with
that joint venture partner, so you’re gonna
be the one presenting, this is gonna give you
a chance to share some of your best advice
with their audience, give them some information
that really helps them and at the end of the
webinar, you can now present your course.
Now in order for a webinar to be the most
effective you want that joint venture partner
to be a part of the webinar you want them
to actually co-host it with you essentially so that
when the webinar starts, they’re gonna introduce
you, they’re gonna thank the audience for
attending the webinar. Then they’re gonna
hand it over to you, you’re gonna present
and at the end of your probably gonna do like
a Q and A session you guys might tackle that
together but at the end of that webinar you
are presenting your course and whichever people
from that person’s audience by your course
you’re gonna split the sales with that person
because they did all the work to promote you
through their audience.
So give me an example of how this works, I’m
from Vancouver BC and I went and attend in
a conferences and meet ups for couple of years
and one the meet ups that I’d like to go
to is called internet masterminds. There’s
a ton of people who go to that meet up, who
are all interested in online business and
internet marketing so I sort of going to those
events about 2 years ago and printed dozens
of them before and that’s give me a chance
to meet other speakers and also get to know
the host of this meet ups and over time I’ve
actually ended up becoming friends with the
host of the media group so earlier this year
when I created my course on podcasting I simply
sent an e-mail to my friend who like spent
you know a good year to getting to know and
who I’d knew had access to an audience that
would like to be interested in starting a
podcast and said “Hey, would you like to
host a webinar together I got a course on
podcasting you’ve got a list of subscribers
from your meet up group we can do the webinar
together we can split the sales”, and he
said “Yup, no problem let’s do it". We set
a date, give him some bullet points for him to
set up a registration page for the webinar
to promote it to our meet up groups we actually
did it together in person. We started the desk
together with our livecams and with their mics so
that was kinda cool that was kinda a live
co-hosted webinar. I gave some information
about podcasting, I finished the webinar by
introducing my course and when several of those
people who are on webinar about my course,
I split the sales with that individual because he is the one who
promoted me to his audience but that didn’t
happened over night so remember, I had spent
time before that joint venture occurred, building
the relationship, adding value, I was going to
his events, I was telling other people about his
events. We hang out a few times outside of his
event before we got to that point where I was
comfortable asking him to promote me and he
is more than happy to do so.
So that’s just an example of how this strategy
can take a little bit of time because you
wanna plant those seeds, you wanna add value
to the people who are eventually you gonna
ask to promote you because again you
don’t just want to go sending a bunch of emails to
people who don’t know you that never heard
of you before asking them to promote you because
they’ll probably just gonna say no.
So you wanna take the time to go through a
relationship with these people this is a long
term strategy but it’s a great strategy
and one of the best benefits of working with
joint venture partners is there’s no limit. You can work with these many joint venture
partners as your willing to promote you which
immediately removes the limit on how many
people you can promote your course to because
if you’re only promoting your course to
your audience, you’re obviously limited by
the size of your audience.
