we're going to be talking about how do you
create a wiki Facebook community for your
online course.
Hey guys, today we're going to be talking
about why would you even make a Facebook group.I
have four really easy reasons as to why it's
important for you to make a Facebook group.
I've done this first hand.I'm in-charge of
creating the Facebook group for Thinkific
and I've seen it skyrocket our business so
absolutely, I'm going to pull back the curtains
a little bit and show you why it's important
and what you should even do.
Number one, its really a great way to have
one-on-one engagement with your customers.
I mean, there are other forms of communication,
you can go through email, you can kind of
pick up the phone and try to call customers
but Facebook gives you a really unique opportunity
to be able to jump in and have his ongoing
conversations that really I've seen nowhere
else do quite as well.
There's other social media channels but facebook
gives you these really long tail abilities
to really dive in and chat with your customers
and the benefit of that is when you're chatting
with your customers,you get to know their
pain points, you understand, you know what's
working for them, what's not working for them,
they are asking you a ton of questions,they'll
be sure to ask you questions and tell you
what's not working and not only does it give
you an opportunity now to address those questions
but also allows you to understand your customers
better.When you're creating future course
products or other marketing materials,you're
better able to talk to your customers in a
way that they appreciate and understand.
Its going to help you now, that's going to
help you in the future.Second of all, the
great thing that you can do is actually help
with customer service.A lot of you are independent
course creators and you might not have an
entire group of customer support teams that
are able to answer questions in 10 minutes
flat or less and if you're able to create
a community around your online course, you
actually allowed your community to do a lot
of that work for you.
I see it every single day in Thinkific.
If you want to see what I'm talking about,
jump into our own Facebook group and you'll
be able to see what I've done with Thinkific's
facebook group, to see what I'm chatting about.When
people ask questions in our Facebook group,you
could see that a lot of the times I'm not
the first one to answer at a lot of the times
our community members are jumping in there
first and that really shows you know the power
of our community but also it allows those
customers to be a lot happier because they're
getting an answer quicker and you would never
be able to get the response time , it was
just you trying to answer all those questions.Build
a community and allow your customers to partake
in a customer service just as much as you
do.They'll be happy to do it because when
they get more help, they're equally are able
to offer more help.
So,Try that out and creating a Facebook group.Third
of all, its really wonderful for customer
retention.When customers are feeling like
they can talk to you,when customers get answers
really quickly,when they have other like-minded
course creators or students in the Facebook
group that have similar problems, they end
up sticking around way longer.
We have a dad to show on this but absolutely
they stick around so your customer retention
for your online course is going to skyrocket
by having this other group and community that
you've built.
Its really really great for your current customer
list.That brings me to the fourth point,absolutely
I can help you with your current customer
base but what about new customer a lot of
the time you're going to say oh I think I
need to go to marketing or advertising or
big billboard to talk about my online course
but in fact a group and building a community
can help with customers acquisitions and bring
you more customers.You might say, well how's
that possible because social proof is so important.When
you create social proof so somebody else telling
you why the course is so great,it's a lot
easier to believe that if someone were to
ask you as a course creator, hey why should
I take your course.When you create this community
and you'll see it in our Facebook group all
the time people say hey why should I use Thinkific
and if I was going to answer, well you could
use Thinkific because I think we're you know,
were speedy, we've got great customer service,
our tools are paramount and that absolutely
the best.
Yeah I can say that but probably I'm a little
bit biased where if you can see it happens
probably daily in our Facebook group when
people say you know why should I use Thinkific.
At the end of the day, probably 10 or 15 of
our customers will chime in and say that's
the reason that they picked Thinkific and
it happens all the time but you're able to
see the effectiveness of it.
I kind of stand back and don't even answer
those questions anymore because a customer
that hears from 10 of my customers, why they
should join us versus me telling them why
didn't you join us, absolutely social proof
is going to win across the board.Those are
four great reasons why you should be using
Facebook, if you don't believe me, you know
