Tracking Codes; Pixels and Scripts for Online Courses Video Lecture - Online

today I'm going to talk about tracking
codes and this question comes to us from
Sarah and our facebook group and Sarah
was asking about where to put the
tracking codes where they come from
where you get your tracking pixels doing
things like retargeting so within think
effect there are three places where you
can put your tracking codes or tracking
pixels and what they do is they send
information off to other applications to
tell you that a certain event has
occurred and there's three places you
can do that you can track visitors to
the site and you do that in your site
footer code you can track signups to the
site so this is anyone who gives you an
email address whether it's free or paid
and you do that in the signup tracking
code area and finally you can track
people who have paid for something and
that goes in the order tracking code and
all of these happen in the advanced
settings area so you can go to your
platform and there's a whole bunch of
different marketing platforms out there
that will have tracking codes or
tracking pixels or retargeting pixels
one for example is Facebook you can grab
that retargeting or tracking code from
facebook and just copy and paste it
right into the tracking code areas and
again that is your site footer code your
sign-up tracking code area or your order
tracking code all in the Advanced
Settings and once you do that we send
the data off to those platforms like
Facebook to say that that event has
occurred so if someone comes as a
visitor to your site and you're tracking
that then we'll tell Facebook this
person is visited your site and you can
do something like retarget them which
means that they'll start to see ads
wherever they go based on Facebook's
retargeting algorithms so I encourage
you to try that out throw in some
retargeting or tracking codes again you
can access those in the Advanced
Settings and I hope it helps in your
