hey buddies 54 new start and this is a
simple health system inside our top-down
space shooter game feeling with the fact
that you want to collect health here's
our health box let's see you enemy he's
caged up for now and not getting over a
hundred percent so you have a hundred
percent of health how do you know not
explode that into like a thousand
percent of health well I've done it it's
pretty simple I'm developing for our
next part which will be dealing with
multiple parts I might also be dealing
with an advanced health system but
that's a lot of dragon job stuff and I
want to keep it simple right now
it's on so our health box on collision
with our player and then you want to
click right add another condition and
the other condition is it's a global
variable or a system variable compare
variable compare a variable health less
than 100 so you can only pick up health
if you're you know if your health is
less than 100 which you know is one of
the rules it's gonna add a thousand so
you can see in the health bar and it's
gonna set the width so we're gonna run
it let's see make sure that you cannot
pick it up so we're just playing around
look I can boy set up and we're hitting
it but it's not you know I can't pick up
house whatever so we're now going to
remove one of the little cage pieces
we're gonna hit play again I'm gonna get
ready for I just gotta come around
I need to fix this pathfinding setup
whoa yeah he's too fast I need to make
sure he doesn't kill me too fast all
right now I got him then we took some
health
I took some damage and then we hit this
and boom our health is out of thousand
but we don't need that it most likely
it's going to be a ten or twenty five
percent health boost and then in the
advanced one actually if you did if you
hard-coded this with I think this Incan
codon forgot what this thing can code in
dictionary XML or something like that
you can use code computer code like Java
or HTML or so like that to hard code to
like code in a variable saying if so
much health is gone calculate how much
health is gone and in if he collides
with a using a health box calculate how
much that is worth add to that if it is
if a health box say he only has 95
percent health and he has 5% no health
it collides with the box that's worth
10% health boom he you subtract five um
you subtract five health from the health
box and he added to the player he has a
hundred percent it can but the health
box is still there because it's still
worth five health points he could always
go back to it in case he goes further
down the game and he goes back to it and
then he basically you know gets another
5% health you remember in Doom 3 or some
other game with like health items on the
wall or you know health spawners or
whatever and you know they start at 100%
health themselves and you can always
subtract health or whatever from that
device go play the game you're down the
circum person health you go back to it
it still has 25 or 5% health points or
whatever to give you
from that's what the advanced health
system is going to be but that means for
you have to basically what you'll have
to do is take Li take this health box
and then you have to calculate I'd say a
good six to eight variables saying if
player helped us lessen this if it's
that if it's that if it's less than a
hundred if it's less than ninety five if
it's less than eighty you know then you
add so much health but that's a lot of
variables and I don't have it set up
right now but I'm gonna do that week
this week or something like that but
this is the simple health system you Pro
yeah you probably just need ten or
twenty five health so when he takes
damage he gets a health system and most
games are like this to where they don't
you know you may only have eighty eight
you may have eighty-eight health and you
only need you know how much more health
to move you back to a hundred and you
see a hundred health bar or not like a
hundred health pill or whatever and you
