Official Steam.Design Guide! Video Lecture | Steam Tutorial: A Beginner's Guide - Game Development

he goes spinning here and the guys over
it's teams of designer asked me to
update their video guide on how to use
their website so first thing before I
started my name Sabrina and I make steam
tutorials and steam artwork related
videos if you'd like single design you
probably like the content on my channel
so subscribe if you want to see stuff
like that so to the actual guide they've
actually recently added a donation
button to donate they don't run ads on
the site so they're not very profitable
I've actually donated $10 of them myself

discord so if you have any problems with
the website or suggestions go to their
discord and just check them out so I'm
just going to show you how to use this
website now so up in the top right
corner we can see there's a login button
I'm already logged in but if we press
the arrow next to it we can see that
there's the steam backgrounds that are
available in my inventory so if I want
to click one of these I can just click a
scroll Academy Trump 3 this is a
personal favorite background of mine and
we can either use the background in our
inventory or we can go to the market
click view full size image and then use
one of these ones so just paste it in
here and then click change background
and we'll change it to one of these so
for the sake of the tutorial I'm going
to use this one and so we can choose
between two sort of layouts so we can
use the screenshot showcase and the
artwork showcase which is a bit smaller
or we can toggle long images and just
have one large one that takes up the
whole background so there's a different
method from actually uploading the long
images artwork but there are tutorials
on it like I've made a video on it and
there is a guide for it so if you want
to do that there is a link down below in
the description so I'm just going to
show you how to actually use all these
images and upload them so for the sake
of that I'm going to just do a regular
size so once we're happy with all this
we're going to download the zip wait for
it to download and then we open it up
and we see we've got all these files so
these are actually the screenshots the
screenshot ones here so we can see
there's the middle which is this one
then bottom then middle then top and
then
the Avatar which is this one over here
and we have the middle the bottom bottom
Middle top and then the just the center
middle so I'm just going to show you how
to upload these ones quickly we're going
to go to a steam profile then what we're
going to do is go to a peer community
home and go to our recently played games
mind being Counter Strike global
Offensive then go over to artwork go
upload your artwork now what we want to
do is we want to actually go back to
that zip file that we had so I'm going
to go to my downloads and then zip
design to and then we just want to
extract it somewhere so I'm just going
to extract mine to my desktop you can't
actually see it because I've got stuff
hidden on my desktop but we've got them
here so we're going to go back into our
browser I'm going to choose our file I'm
going to find where we saved it so mine
was desktop and then our work middle C
we can see out here I'm going to put
smiley face as my title and then certify
that earn it and we're going to save to
my profile here we will just wait for it
to upload it can take up quite a while
depending on your internet speed and the
file size well mines uploaded here so
I'm going to go to my profile I'm going
to go edit profile going to then scroll
down to my artwork showcase you can
access it through here you have to be at
least level 10 to get your artwork
showcase and it's like the most recent
file which will be that one so you see
it there and you just scroll down click
Save Changes return to my profile and we
see it's there it doesn't blend with my
background because I don't not using the
same background but if you want the side
panels you what you want to do is upload
it the same way and then go to the side
piece here and then just select them
like you would the other ones
so stuff like that so that's how you do
the side panels I hope this tutorial was
