Animated Workshop Showcase Tutorial Video Lecture | Steam Tutorial: A Beginner's Guide - Game Development

hey guys sabrina here and today i'm
gonna be showing you how to get a cool
workshop showcase that is animated so
it's been long overdue that i make this
video and i'm finally getting around to
it so today i'm going to show you how to
use a template to make yours by a zoo
and i'm also going to show you how to
get a random gift from the internet and
make it from one of those so let's get
straight into it so we're actually going
to have to go to this guide that is made
by a following drunko life which will
also be down below and we're going to
scroll down to workshop showcase here
click on it and then right click and
save the image there and then the second
thing we're going to do is find a gift
that we want to use so I like this one I
found it on Google I'm going to save
that one as well I'm going to open up
After Effects now and then I'm going to
drag in my template right click on the
template file and then go new comp from
selection and then we can drag in our
gift as well then we want to drag in our
gift from the project panel to the
composition panel and make sure it is
under the template we're going to then
use s to scale up or down to the desired
size for your workshop showcase so I
like it about there then we are going to
find where the gift ends which would be
here and then we're going to press n so
it loops from there so we can just play
it through quickly and see that loops
flawlessly so then we're going to press
file render queue and then we're going
to go output module change it to PNG
sequence change the output to wherever
you want so I'm going to do my artwork
workshop and just save it to my client
work folder and then render it through
while waiting for it to render make sure
to open up Photoshop
so once it's rendered in after-effects
we're going to open up Photoshop and go
to file open and then navigate to where
we saved mine and I'm going to click the
first image there and then click this
image sequence box then press open so
this was saved at 60fps so I'm going to
save it as that and I'm going to go to
window up here and then timeline press
spacebar to play it through and make
sure it's all smooth and everything you
wanted so once you're happy with a gif
what we're actually going to do is crop
it so what we're going to do is then
stop the stop the animation from playing
make a new layer and then drag the layer
above this video group we have here and
then we see it here and we're just going
to drag it down and then size it up with
the duration so meet that go for the
same amount of time alright then we're
going to drag our template that we
downloaded earlier on top so I'm going
to drag that back and size it up again
and then we can see if we hide the layer
we can still see the template so we're
going to get the magic one tool which
you can get by pressing W and then
select each box and then click the crop
tool which is right below it and then
press ENTER and then enter twice and
then we see we just have that specific
picture so we're going to save this as a
gift so export safer web legacy looping
options forever and then we're going to
click Save and then I'm going to save
mine to my desktop and I'm going to have
it as one adult gif let it render
through and then do the same for the
next three
so answer saves all over images we're
going to go to Chrome again and then
open up this upload artwork page we're
going to right click on anywhere on the
page and go to inspect element we're
then going to go to console and then
paste this code it will be down below
and then press ENTER and we should get
11 back as our feedback once I've done
that we can upload so I'm going to press
smiley face is my name go to gif one
upload smiley face I certify that I own
this and then save and continue we're
going to do this for the next three
artworks alright so once we've got all
four images uploaded we're going to go
to our profile we're going to go to our
edit profile and then we're going to
scroll down to find your good test so
we're going to go to your workshop
showcase and then pick our images so my
first one is going to be number one so
just like the image is a little bit one
so now we see that we've got this really
cool gift so we're going to go Save
Changes go back to our profile and then
scroll down and we see that we've got it
here it's not quite things because my
Internet's quite slow at the moment but
that's how we do it I just quickly want
to shout out my friend of zu who has
some amazing Steam Workshop animations
he's got these great ones here and you
can just click the buttons here and
they'll link you to all the individual
images and you just upload it like how I
showed you just before and they're
absolutely free he's a nice guy go check
him out and the links of those would be
