How to Break Out Arpeggios from Guitar Chords Video Lecture - Guitar Become

sometimes I get really sad when I break
things up like my parents marriage but
when I break up chords and arpeggios I
feel a lot better about myself and that
got pretty real but this is going to be
the example that we're going to use

so we got to kind of open chords this is
G major chord and a half man you can
play like I've made yourself and however
you want but we're gonna add and
incorporate and arpeggio with it in a
musical exercise type thing I'm gonna
show you I can do this with it with any
chord major minor but we're gonna start
with open G chord right so basically
yeah and our Pesce oh is just when you
take the notes from the from a major
scale or any kind of scale you play it
one note at a time so if we have a G
major chord the scale that goes along
with that is the G Major scale
alright so if we got like eight notes
here we have three e 5 e 2 a 3 a 5 a 2 d
4 D 5 D 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 to make a G
major chord arpeggio would you take the
1 3 and the 5 now we're actually gonna
add the 6 note also 1 2 3 4 5 6 into
this so we're gonna go
all right but plot twists we're gonna do
this in a different spot so we can kind
of get used to moving around the
fretboard we're gonna do it on the GI
man a string which is a tenth fret so
that same thing applies is the G Major
scale one three five six five three one
now if we swing it a little bit G major
chord you can slide it to like back and
forth like G chord into the one three
five six five three one
the second time let's add the Nagi again
with the active Jia octave you one two
three four five six seven eight the 12th
fret on the g string
so the first arpeggio we're gonna do is
gonna be a 1 3 5 6 5 3 1 the second one
we're gonna do is gonna be a 1 3 5 6 5 3
8 same thing and it sounds kind of like
like closure was like a resolution there
to kind of close it off on a G now you
can take any combination of these
numbers with lettuce scale or without of
a scale to kind of make up your own
exercises but this is just gonna be the
one we're gonna do so G major chord into
the next register and back to G now
let's move the whole thing let's go to a
F chord now since F is just two frets
behind G we can do the exact same thing
in F spot so it is the F chord the F on
a string is the 8th fret and the exact
same fingerings that we did for the gia
so now I'm gone I've got the 1 3 5 6 5 3
1 in half where should be 8 a270 10 D 2
7 g to 10 D back to 7 dia and then the
second time for this one sandy'll right
so we've got

now let's go they can be kind of quick
going from here to here and here to here
slow down however you want to do it you
could take different chord voicings if
you wanted to you could just do them
both in the same spot like a G bar board
it was a million different ways to do it
but I always think of an accompanying
arpeggio a major arpeggio that you can
get to from any other major chord now I
would be remiss to not add a minor
component to this so let's take like a a
minor chord and do a a minor arpeggio in
the same vein so if we have the - carry
here to go with a a minor chord five
seven eight five seven eight five seven
one two three four five six seven eight
just like with the other ones we did a
one three five six five three one we can
do the same intervals the same numbers
I'm a 1 3 5 6 5 3 1 so it's kind of like
the minor version of that pesha that we
just did so if we did in the same spot
we could have the a minor and then maybe
the second time and on the octave a 1 3
5 6 5 3
but we could also do the same thing in a
different spot now we could do it this
is an acoustic tire you can do these on
electrics it can get a little tight if
we do it up here the octave area this
doesn't have a cutaway so I'm kind of at
the limit as far as fighting where I'm
going so maybe I want to find a
different location we could take this a
but on the D string which is the seventh
fret is the Aki two three four five six
seven eight
so we do the same thing here just like
that we could do the Barre chord or give
the open chord

anyways it's just a couple different
things you can kind of incorporate into
your own practicing to make a little
more musical and you try swinging things
and you can do it from any minor or
major chord to kind of add these
arpeggios and to maybe bring out just a
little bit of other pieces of the fret
board playing in different registers etc
