all right so on this video I'm going to
be briefly going over seven Shopify apps
that I think are really useful and can
be really effective for helping out just
about any store and six of these seven
are free and the one you see on the
screen right now is the only one that's
paid but it does have a 15-day free
trial so if you don't like it you can
just get rid of it so I'm not going to
be giving huge long explanations on
these because most of them have videos
and or long descriptions telling you
what they do so I'm just going to be
going through them very briefly so the
first one is boost sales and what this
is is it's an upsell and cross-sell app
so essentially when somebody adds one
item to their card so say you're selling
like dog products and somebody adds a
dog leash to their car you could also
upsell them a dog collar or you know dog
food or whatever else you're selling on
the it would show up right under your
cart it would come up as a lightbox
pop-up on the screen so they'd say
you've successfully added this collar to
cart and then similar people have bought
this item or so-and-so and it will show
up with your upsells whatever ones you
choose so this can help increase sales
sales a lot and the next step is called
privy and what this is is it's a email
popup light box so if you've watched any
of the previous Shopify videos you will
know that I went over how important it
is to start building an email list and
this app helps with that so as soon as
somebody enters your site you can set it
to where a white box will pop up and it
will ask them to enter their email to
subscribe to your newsletter and you can
offer them incentives like coupon codes
it's stuff that you can put right into
the pop-up and you can set this to pop
up as soon as someone lands on your site
or right when they're about to leave
your site so it's pretty versatile and
it's free so there's really no reason
not to be doing it and
one is quick Facebook live chat so what
this does is it has a little chat box
like if you've ever been on GoDaddy or
any of these big sites you know they
always have live 24/7 customer support
well that's something you can have on
your store too as long as you have a
smartphone with your Facebook app if you
can use this and it will set up a chat
box like that and whenever the customer
puts in a message the message will be
sent right to your Facebook so you can
respond right from your phone and this
is a lot easier than some other apps
reget send an email then you have to
open up a program and things like that
so you get notified right away and that
can help you close a lot more sales and
this is another free one so there's
really no reason not to use it and the
next one is McAfee secure so what does
it do I'm sure you've all heard of
McAfee virus protection software and
stuff like that
so that's exactly what this would do it
will check your site for malware viruses
and things of the sort and it will also
put a little McAfee badge on your site
like this which will give your site more
trust and your visitors will feel more
comfortable on your site so that can
help improve sales or at least improve
comfort level so people won't bounce
away so quickly and the next one is
called crush dot pix and all this does
is it just essentially compresses the
file size of your photos which will
increase the loading speed of your pages
and if you're familiar at all with SEO
you'll know the quicker your page loads
the better it's going to rank in the
search engines if you have a really slow
outdated really terrible loading speed
on your page you're going to be punished
in search engine rankings so if you're
trying to get organic traffic from
Google as well as Facebook ads and paid
advertising then you're going to want to
use something like this the speed up
your page and the next one is bandaged
so what this is it's kind of similar to
Google Analytics and the Shopify
analytics you already have it
essentially just puts those together and
provide some of its own tracking as well
and this is really helpful because it's
designed just for Shopify stores so as I
said it can buy
the analytics from Google and the
Shopify analytics and puts them together
and it's really easy to use and it can
help you with your ad targeting and you
can see what's working and what's not
and so on and it's free to use and the
last one is called receipt phul and this
one is just essentially the same as
boost sales the upsell app except this
happens in the receipt that's sent to
your customer after they purchase so
what it does is you can customize an
email template you can have your company
logo you can have it say whatever you
want and then at the bottom of the email
it will have upsells in there and you
can also create custom one-time codes
not like the other coupon codes these
are specific for this app and they're
only a one use code so it would be
specific for customers that just bought
and they can only use it one time so
this can increase returning buyers this
can increase you know more upsells with
this with the upsell app as well you
know that's two to three exposures that
you could have for someone for the same
item and you know a lot of salespeople
say sometimes it takes having to pitch
somebody seven times for them to buy and
this is even if somebody already buys
this is just another chance that you can
upsell them again for free especially
with the coupon code they can be put in
here as well so that's pretty much it
